Robert F. Stoops received his B.A. in ceramic engineering from N.C. State and his M.A. and Ph.D. in ceramic engineering from Ohio State University. He joined the faculty at N.C. State in 1958 and was appointed director of engineering research in 1968. He also served as the director of the N.C. State Minerals Research Laboratory. From the description of Robert F.
